Potter Brompton Carr - Open mornings

As many people will be aware, in recent weeks the farmland at Potter Brompton Carr has been attracting significant numbers of wildfowl and waders (principally Lapwing, Golden Plover and Snipe) and a variety of other species of interest. The farm has entered into a Higher Level Stewardship scheme and is part of the Cayton and Flixton Carrs Wetland Project. Unfortunately the site is private and it is currently not possible to allow general access to the site. There are plans for an open day to take place in February and details will be posted on the Potter Brompton Farms website once arrangements have been confirmed (www.pbfarms.co.uk).

However, I plan to offer members of Scarborough Birders the opportunity to visit the site on a weekend in December. Arrangements are at an early stage, but I need to have some idea of the number of people who might be interested. So, if you would like to receive details of the event please drop me a line to express your interest and I will send you details as soon as they are available.  Contact me at chrisgbradshaw@hotmail.com.
