Monday 24th March 2014

The Black Redstart from the 17th remained in the area near St Marys Church, but other than that migrants were very thin on the ground with only 2 Meadow Pipit, 3 Pied Wagtail and 6 Chiffchaff seen between the Castle and Cornelian Bay.
There was a trickle of passage along South Cliff with 1 Grey Heron and 1 Buzzard north and 2 Alba south.
Elsewhere 7 Purple Sandpiper were in the Harbour, 8 Redshank were at Holbeck, an adult Mediterranean Gull was seen near Suffield, 8 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Pink-footed Goose, 2 Egyptian Geese and 2 Goldeneye were at Wykeham South Lake and 3 Shelduck, 4 Teal and a Goosander were on Seamer Tip.
