Thursday 27th - Saturday 29th March 2014

After a very quiet two days, with only a Green Sandpiper seen between Snainton and Yedingham on the 28th, the 29th was at least a little more lively.
Migrants seen between Cloughton Wyke and South Cliff were 2 Snipe, 65 Meadow Pipit, 1 'Scandinavian' Rock Pipit (Holbeck), 7 Chiffchaff and a Goldcrest.
On Johnson's Marsh there were 2 Shelduck, 10 Teal, 11 Wigeon and 2 Oystercatcher, a Shoveler, 2 Teal and 2 Oystercatcher were at Seamer Tip, 3 Goldeneye were on Wykeham South Lake, at Scalby Mills there were 9 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 40 Siskin were along Hatterboard Drive and the first pair of Lesser Black-backed Gull were back on territory along Spring Bank.
Passage was only very light (mostly north) with 1 Golden Plover, 4 Meadow Pipit, 1 Chaffinch, 1 Linnet + 10 south and a Siskin south
