A better day with more reports and spring feeling slightly closer. At Long Nab the Chiffchaff, 1 Siskin and 9 Lapland Bunting were present, 8 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Egyptian Geese, 8 Gadwall, a Pochard and 12 Oystercatcher were on Wykeham South Lake, 2 Red-throated Diver, 2 Great Crested Grebe and 5 Common Scoter were in Cayton Bay, a Pink-footed Goose, 8 Goosander and 2 Oystercatcher were on Harwood Dale Lake, a Pink-footed Goose, 2 Shelduck, 10 Tufted Duck, 2 Oystercatcher, 18 Snipe and 180+ Common Gull were on Potter Brompton Carr (no general access), 3 Whooper Swan were on Lebberston Carr, 2 Mandarin were at Hackness, 80 Wigeon, a Lesser Black-backed Gull and a Grey Wagtail were at Scalby Mills, 6 Common Buzzard, 5 Goshawk, 2 Mistle Thrush, 2 Brambling and a Crossbill were at Wykeham Raptor viewpoint, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit were in Jackson's Bay, a Green Woodpecker and 4 Crossbill were in Broxa Forest and 2 Grey Wagtail were at Hilla Green.
On the move (south unless stated) were 2 Red-throated Diver + 1 north, 9 Fulmar + 14 north, 13 Gannet + 3 north, 7 Cormorant + 1 north, 5 Shag north, 629 Pink-footed Geese north, 7 Greylag Geese + 6 north, 4 Eider, 7 Common Scoter north, 1 Common Buzzard north, 7 Lapwing in off and west, 26 Black-headed Gull + 1 north, 18 Common Gull + 9 north, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull 1 north, 212 Herring Gull, 7 Great Black-backed Gull + 1 north, 1 Auk sp + 2 north, 1 Stock Dove, 16 Skylark, 1 Meadow Pipit, 1 Rock Pipit north, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Alba, 1 Blackbird north, 29 Goldfinch, 3 Siskin and 27 Linnet + 3 north.
