Migration watch; 06.55 - 12.05hrs.
Another 3 more additions to the year list with House Martin in Cayton, a Whimbrel at Scalby Lodge Pond and a female Black Redstart behind the Marine Drive Wall.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver + 2 north, 11 Fulmar + 15 north, 213 Gannet + 56 north, 6 Cormorant + 6 north, 3 Shag north, 3 Greylag Goose, 1 Shelduck, 1 Tufted Duck north, 3 Common Scoter, 1 Red Kite at 11.37hrs with a second south through Wykeham South Lake at 12.12hrs, 1 Kestrel, 2 Oystercatcher north, 1 Curlew north, 3 Black-headed Gull + 3 north, 23 Common Gull + 4 north, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull north, 4 Great Black-backed Gull + 3 north, 620 Kittiwake, 91 Auk sp + 60 north, 2 Swallow + 3 north, 4 Meadow Pipit + 47 north, 3 Rock Pipit, 2 Alba north, 11 Carrion Crow north, 2 Chaffinch north, 14 Goldfinch and 92 Linnet + 13 north.
Elsewhere 2 Snipe and a Jack Snipe were at Seamer Tip, the drake Scaup was still at Peasholm Park, 5 Little Ringed Plover, 2 Goldeneye, 6 Sand Martin and 2 Swallow were at Wykeham South Lake, a single Little Ringed Plover was on Rudda Road Falsh and 5 Teal, 2 Shelduck and a Redshank were on Johnson's Marsh.
Other grounded migrants seen along the coast were 5 Chiffchaff at Long Nab, 1 White Wagtail at Scalby Lodge Pond and 1 Blackcap on Castle Hill.

A pod of around 15 Bottlenose Dolphin passed south at Long Nab at 08.40am and were later seen passing Marine Drive.
