Friday 26th – Sunday 28th August 2016

After a completely birdless two days the 28th finally produced some interest, most of which was over the sea.
Migration watch; 09.10 – 15.20hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 2 Wigeon + 7 north, 1 Shoveler north, 1 Pintail north, 71 Teal + 224 north, 27 Common Scoter + 172 north, 3 Red-throated Diver, 47 Fulmar + 94 north, 7 Manx Shearwater + 3 north, 1 Little Egret, 2 Shag + 1 north, 7 Cormorant + 13 north, 8 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 2 Whimbrel, 1 Turnstone, 28 Knot, 2 Dunlin + 19 north, 37 Kittiwake + 161 north, 7 Black-headed Gull + 9 north, 1 Mediterranean Gull, 10 Common Gull + 3 north, 1 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull north, 9 Sandwich Tern + 37 north, 19 Common Tern + 26 north, 1 Arctic Tern, 2 Black Tern at 13.59hrs, 1 Pomarine Skua at 13.55hrs, 27 Arctic Skua + 2 north and 1 Puffin.
A Wheatear and a Whitethroat were behind Marine Drive Wall and a second juvenile Yellow-legged Gull was seen blogging off Long Nab.
