Saturday 26th January

Highlights from Long Nab this morning include a Great Northern Diver, 35 Red-throated Divers, a Common Scoter and 2 Velvet Scoters passing, plus 12 more Red-throated Divers and 70+ Guillemots feeding offshore. In the harbour there were 20 Purple Sandpipers roosting and a Razorbill in the harbour mouth. There were 320 Herring Gulls, a Common Gull and a second calendar year Mediterranean Gull at Scalby Mills, and about 90 Pink-footed Geese flew north over North Bay. 19 Crossbills were seen in Cloughton Woods and a pair of Stonechats were spotted on the cliffs at the southern end of Jackson's Bay.
