Monday 26th August

A Green Sandpiper and a Redshank were spotted flying inland over Dean Road this morning. Highlights from Long Nab this afternoon included a Spotted Flycatcher and a Whinchat, plus 2 Wigeon flying south and 2 Bottlenose Dophins moving north. 12 Teal were at Johnson's Marsh and 3 Swifts were seen over Eastfield.  Large numbers of gulls (over 6000) were seen coming in to roost this evening at Burton Riggs, Scarborough Tip and Crossgates, including 1,600 Black-headed and 100+ juvenile Lesser Black-backed. Also on the move in the area were more than 350 House Martins and 70 Swallows heading south.
