Tuesday 27th August

A Red Kite was seen circling over Cloughton this morning, and a Tree Pipit went south at Long Nab. A single Wigeon was at Johnson's Marsh, and 2 Common Sandpipers were at the East Pier.  17 Whimbrel were seen heading south and 47 Teal heading north at Long Nab. An influx of migrants at there included two Pied Flycatchers at Cliff Top House, 8 Whinchats, 2 Stonechats and 3 Wheatears. A Swift flew south over Woodall Avenue, and a Hobby flew south over Harwood Dale ponds. A Shoveler was at Seamer Tip pool and a Whinchat was seen at New Dike, Seamer Tip. 4 Gadwall and a Teal flew over Seamer Mead, and a Marsh Harrier was eating a rabbit in the bean field off Metes Lane, Seamer. A Sparrowhawk was spotted over North Bay beach, a Whinchat and a Wheatear were seen at Ravenscar, and a Whinchat was seen at South Cliff. In Wrench Green there were 2 Willow Tits, and 22 Teal on Northstile pool. At Long Nab this afternoon 2 Bottlenose Dolphins were spotted 1.5 - 2 miles out, moving north, and a juvenile Hen Harrier was seen flying south about 1km out.  2 Turtle Doves were in Broxa village this evening.
