A Marsh Harrier, 4 Red-throated Divers flew south at Long Nab, Dunlin and Curlew north. A singing Reed Warbler at Crook Ness. Four pairs of Golden Plovers on Fylingdales Moor. Also at Potter Brompton Carr: 2 Great White Egrets, 5 Little Egrets, Red Kite, Marsh Harrier, Hobby. At least one Honey Buzzard from the Raptor Viewpoint, also Red Kite and 11 Crossbills. An Osprey was seen over Low Dalby in the morning, and Ellerburn in the evening, plus another Osprey flew south over Scalby Mills and town at 9pm. Two Little Ringed Plovers at Harwood Dale Lake. At Wykeham East Lake: 2 Egyptian Geese, 2 Shelduck, 2 Little Ringed Plovers. At nearby Long Causeway Road; Hobby, 2 Nightjars, 2 Woodcock, Curlew, 2 Garden Warblers, 3 Tree Sparrows. Up to seven Nightjars in Cloughton Woods, plus four in the Hawdale/Givendale areas of Dalby Forest. Six Woodcocks there too.

At Wykeham East Lake: 2 Shelducks, 333 Herring Gulls, 6 Lbb Gulls, Gbb Gull and a Common Gull, a Little Owl by the entrance. A Red Kite north of Wykeham village. A Cuckoo and 2 pairs of Stonechats at Saltergate. A singing Stonechat in North Bay. Three Nightjars in Wykeham Forest.

The Honey Buzzard pair were again seen regularly from the Wykeham Forest Raptor Viewpoint, a Spotted Flycatcher by the car park. A Blue Fulmar flew north past Long Nab. A Willow Tit, 4 Tree Pipits, 5 Crossbills in the Dalby/Newclose Rigg area. Two Little Ringed Plovers Harwood Dale Lake. A cream crown Marsh Harrier flew west at Low Marishes. A Kingfisher, Cuckoo, and two Reed Warbler territories at Selley Bridge Farm. At Potter Brompton Carr: 2 Egyptian Geese, 2 Wigeon, Little Ringed Plover, 2 Common Sandpipers, 3 Great White Egrets, 4 Little Egrets, 25 Swifts. The Honey Buzzard pair continued to perform well over the Wykeham Forest Raptor Viewpoint. Also seen there were an escaped Harris Hawk, Hobby, and Willow Tit. Past Long Nab were 44 Common Scoter, 5 Manx Shearwaters, 4 Red-throated Divers. Five Turtle Doves in an area south of Dalby Forest. 5+ Nightjars reported from Wykeham Forest and 3 from Harwood Dale Forest.

The pale male Honey Buzzard had returned (9th consecutive season) with last year's female. Both showed extremely well from Wykeham Forest Raptor Viewpoint, twice seen carrying frogs! Also Raven, several Goshawks and Crossbills, plus Willow Tit there. A "cream crown" Marsh Harrier flew east.

A Spotted Flycatcher at Bridestones/Low Staindale car park. Cuckoo and 3 Crossbills at Crosscliffe, Dalby Forest. Two Cuckoos, Whinchat, Lesser Whitethroat at Jugger Howe Moor. 78 Swallows, 31 House Martins, and a single Barnacle Goose (NW) moved past Long Nab. Seven Black-tailed Godwits at Wykeham East Lake. A Red Kite over Folkton Water Treatment. A Spoonbill at Johnson's Marsh, left north mid-morning, also seen over Long Nab. It made it's way south to Filey Dams. Also a Green Sandpiper and Great White Egret at Johnson's Marsh, the egret being seen later at Harwood Dale Lake. A Turtle Dove was seen at the feeders opposite the Mill Inn. Two Garden Warblers, Sedge Warbler and a Gadwall with a brood of 3 ducklings. Four Mute Swan cygnets at Taylor Way pool. Five Manx Shearwaters flew north at Long Nab, 2 Gadwall flew south.

Towards the south end of Harwood Dale Forest: Turtle Dove, Spotted Flycatcher, Tree Pipit, Garden Warbler. A dark Honey Buzzard over Wykeham Forest. At the north end of Helwath Beck: 2 Spotted Flycatchers, Redstart, Green Woodpecker, 2 Cuckoos. The Mute Swans at Seamer Tip pool have ten new arrivals!

A CATTLE EGRET at Star Carr was only the seventh district record. Three Wood Sandpipers, Ruff, 2 Little Ringed Plovers were at Potter Brompton Carr. At Wykeham Forest Raptor Viewpoint: Raven, 2 Goshawks, 4 Garden Warblers, male Whinchat, and plenty of Crossbills. Grasshopper Warblers were at Scalby Beck and Scalby Ness. Two Whinchats (male and female) at Jackson's Bay. Four purring Turtle Dove at the Helwath Road, plus a short burst of churring from a Nightjar, Cuckoo, two displaying Redpolls, three singing Tree Pipits, and a Redstart. A Turtle Dove at Burniston near the lime kiln. At Wykeham Lakes: 2 Egyptian Geese, 2 Common Sandpipers, 6 singing Reed Warblers East/March lakes. Ten Swifts over Thornton le Dale. Common Sandpipers at Staindale Lake and Johnson's Marsh. Three Sanderling flew north at Long Nab. Good numbers of Swifts back over town.
