2 Cuckoo, a Redstart, 26 Crossbills, a Green Woodpecker, 4 Garden Warblers and 3 Tree Pipits were seen/heard early this morning at Troutsdale/Troutsdale Moor. A probable male Hen Harrier flew east over Wykeham Water Park where a Kingfisher was present. 8 Turtle Doves, 3 Willow Tits and a Goshawk were found in Dalby Forest early morning, and 2 Turtle Doves and 3 displaying Lapwings were in Wykeham Forest in the nursery area. An Osprey was reportedly seen over Harwood Dale Lake, while at Long Nab there was a Spotted Flycatcher at the ringing plantation, a Great Skua and a Ringed Plover flew north, and a Little Egret and a Curlew flew south. A Honey Buzzard flew east over Wykeham Forest mid-morning. A pair of Mandarins, 2 Mute Swans, 4 Teal, an Oystercatcher and 2 Tufted Duck were at Thornton Dale lake. A pair of Shoveler were on the ski pond at the Mere, 2 Curlew were at Scalby Mills, and 5 Shelduck were flying round over Seamer Tip Pool for over an hour. At Dalby Forest Visitor Centre there were 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 15+ House Martins, 5+ Swallows, 6 Siskins, a Bullfinch, 2 Buzzards and a Blackcap. A Spotted Flycatcher and 6 Mandarins were seen at Troutsdale Bridge (Hilla Green), but there was no sign of the Pied Flycatcher. The Wood Warbler remains at Turkey Carpet. A Long-eared Owl, 2 Nightjar, 2 Woodcock and 2 Tree Pipits were at North Moor Road this evening.
