5 Whooper Swans flew south over Long Nab this morning, and another 4 flew over the Council yard an hour later. Hundreds of Lapwings were seen in a field just west of Seamer station, while at Seamer Road Mere there were 9 Little Grebes, a Teal, 3 Wigeon, 21 Tufted Duck and 100 Siskins. Highlights passing Long Nab include: 273 Pink-footed Geese, 9 Whooper Swans, a Great Skua, a Mute Swan and 3 Little Gulls all south and 4 Little Gulls north. In the field behind the observatory were 2 Pink-footed Geese, a Whooper Swan and 14 Curlew. 57 Curlew were feeding in a field at the entrance to Linghom Farm, Flotmanby. About 150 Pink-footed Geese flew south over Stepney in the early afternoon and about 120 more flew over the council yard later. 120+ Teal were at Johnson's Marsh, while 21 Curlew and a Wigeon were in Scalby Lodge fields and 10 Pink-footed Geese flew over.
