Sunday 28th November

Seawatching livened up today, the star bird a White-billed Diver flying north past Long Nab. Highlights past there were 33 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, a Velvet Scoter, 7 Great Northern Divers, a Black-throated Diver,Little Gull, 3 Puffins and 7 Little Auks. The Snow Bunting was still in the stubble field behind the observatory with 60+ Skylarks. Also 68 Golden Plover in fields there.Highlights past Marine Drive were: a Little Auk, 6 Great Northern Divers, 3 Purple Sandpipers, 16 Pale-bellied Brent Geese, 24 Red-throated Divers, and 2 Puffins. Seven Wigeon near Seamer tip. A Little Egret flew NNW over East Ayton. One Red-throated Diver in the harbour mouth. Wykeham Lakes: Goldeneye, 4 Wigeon, 39 Tufted Duck, 6 Egyptian Geese,19 Great Crested Grebes,6 Little Grebes, Kingfisher, Siskin. PHOTO- Great Northern Diver past Long Nab (Chris bell)
