Tuesday 21st JUne
A Hobby flew north at Long Nab early this morning, however; this was overshadowed by the presence of a singing male Golden Oriole at Wykeham Raptor Viewpoint car park, singing several times but not relocated thereafter. A Turtle Dove was in the old gas works compound at Wykeham late afternoon, adjacent to this car park. Three Northern Goshawk, six plus Common Buzzards and a Garden Warbler were seen at Jerry Noddle and a Mute Swan was on the rocks at Scalby Mills. A Sanderling was on North Bay beach in front of the beach huts and three Curlews flew north west over Crossgates. A pair of Lesser Black backed Gulls are raising two chicks on a house roof on Livingstone Road and another adult Lesser Black backed Gull visited a Burniston garden. A Shoveler, two Gadwall and five Teal were on Wykeham East Lake and a Cuckoo flew from near the hide towards the Match Lake.
