Saturday 26th April

The first Swift of the year was over Hutton Buscel. A breeding plumage Spotted Redshank at Potter Brompton Carr (viewable from Haybridge), also there Greenshank, Little Ringed Plover, and 2 Garganey. Two Redstarts at Scar Wood. A Ring Ouzel, Cuckoo, Redstart, 17 Willow Warblers around Jugger Howe Moor. Two Pintail flew east over Crossgates. A Bar-tailed Godwit in North Bay and presumably the same bird later in Jackson's Bay. A Grasshopper Warbler just south of Cromer Point, a Greenshank on the rocks there. A Grey Partridge above Jackson's Bay (now scarce along that part of the coast due to Red-legged Partridge releases).Whitethroat singing in Scalby Beck. A Cetti's Warbler still at Seamer Tip pool. Two Sedge Warblers at Sherburn Carr. A Marsh Harrier flew south through Cayton Bay, a Wheatear there plus a White Wagtail at Killerby Cliffs. A Wheatear in North Bay, 6 Eider flew south. A Cuckoo east of Harwood Dale Lake. At Wykeham Lakes: 2 Egyptian Geese, Little Ringed Plover, Common Sandpiper, Greenshank and Yellow Wagtail. Four Dippers on the river Derwent between Hackness and  Wrench Green. A single flock of 200 Stock Doves and pair of Stonechats at Willerby Carr. Migrants in the Yons Nab/Gristhorpe Cliffs area: Wheatear, Garden Warbler, 3 Lesser Whitethroats, 16 Whitethroats, 2 Yellow Wagtails.
