A busy day in Scarborough with constant Whatsapp news! Here's some highlights:
An early morning Swift over Prospect Road, Scarborough. The Spotted Redshank still at Potter Brompton Carr, also 2 Greenshank, Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Great White Egrets, 6 Little Egrets, Cetti's Warbler. Two Grasshopper Warblers in the Scalby Lodge gullies. A Raven at Stoupe Brow. A Wheatear at Marine Drive. Three Garden Warblers at Harland Woods. Lesser Whitethroat in Gristhorpe village, singles also near Lightfoot's Lane, at Castle Hill, and Crossgates. 50+ Fieldfare at Scar Wood. Two Cuckoos at Stony Marl Moor, also a Short-eared Owl, and Red Grouse. A male Ring Ouzel in the Gristhorpe Cliffs/Yons Nab area. Also there 8 Wheatears, White Wagtail, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, plus 2 Fieldfare flew north, and a Grey Plover flew south. An Arctic Tern flew south off North Bay. A Red-throated Diver in Cayton Bay.
