Monday 29th November
Two Little Auks flew north past Cornelian Ravine. Also an Eider and 3 Puffins north and 2 Goldeneye south. A Woodcock flew up from the stream. Two Common Scoters were off Holbeck. 16 Red-throated Divers between Cayton Bay and Long Nab. Two Puffins were off the harbour. An influx of Shags; 14 Marine Drive, 2 South Bay, and singles North Bay and Cayton Bay. A male Merlin was at Cayton Carrs. 3+ Woodcocks at Cockrah, Wrench Green. A Goshawk and 11 Crossbills Wykeham Forest. A Water Rail and Jay at Throxenby Mere. Still good numbers of finches in the Haygate area of Dalby Forest, also 24 Crossbills and 3 Marsh Tits. Two Peregrines over West Ayton. Highlights past Long Nab were a Pale-bellied Brent Goose, Great Northern Diver, and 6 Shags. A female Eider at Scalby Mills.
