A Woodcock flew in off the sea at Marine Drive this morning, and 27 Pink-footed Geese flew north over Pickering, while another 70+ flew north over Burniston in the afternoon. At Wykeham Lakes there were 9 Whooper Swans (including a juvenile), 2 male Goldeneye, a Jack Snipe, 3 Brambling, 4 Great Crested Grebes and 2 juvenile Egyptian Geese at South Lake, while at East Lake there were 2 male and 1 female Goldeneye, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 4 Tufted Duck, a Teal, a Fieldfare, 150+ Lapwing and an Egyptian Goose with 2 juveniles. The pair of Bearded Tits were again present in the reedbed, along with a Water Rail and a Snipe. A Little Egret was on the River Derwent below Ayton Castle. A Red-throated Diver was off Scalby Mills, where a Kingfisher was on the rocks. At Long Nab a Lapland Bunting was with Skylarks in the stubble field, a Brambling was at Cliff Top House, 563 Siskins flew south, and a Puffin was feeding offshore. A Great Spotted Woodpecker was along the cinder track between Burniston and Cloughton.
