Migration watch; 07.30 - 10.35hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 16 Cormorant + 3 north, 10 Teal north, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Redshank, 2 Turnstone, 2 Sandwich tern north, 3 Common Tern north, 59 Swift, 23 Swallow, 7 House Martin and 3 Siskin.
Seen in the Long Nab area were Great Spotted Woodpecker, Whinchat, Reed Warbler and 4 Willow Warbler, at Red Cliff Point there were 20 Redshank, 3 Dunlin, 3 Ringed Plover, a Little Egret and 60 Goldfinch, 5 Mediterranean Gull and 35 Goldfinch were at Ravenscar, the Scaup was in Peasholm Park and 3 Redstart were at Ravenscar.

Migration watch; 16.15 - 18.15hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 12 Fulmar + 1 north, 19 Cormorant + 3 north, 2 Shag, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Whimbrel, 6 Black-headed Gull, 5 Common Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull north, 1 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, 7 Great Black-backed Gull + 3 north, 10 Sandwich Tern + 1 north, 6 Common Tern + 1 north, 25 Swift, 39 Swallow, 1 House Martin and 7 Alba.
Elsewhere the Scaup remained at Peasholm Park, 8 Grey Heron the Little Egret and singles of Greenshank and Green Sandpiper were on Johnson's Marsh, a juvenile Marsh Harrier, 7 Snipe and 3 Whinchat were on Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) and 2 Redstart and a Wheatear were at Ravenscar.

Migration watch; 08.10 - 10.20hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Fulmar, 2 Sanderling, 2 Whimbrel, 2 Common Tern, 12 Swift, 8 Sand Martin, 12 Swallow, 3 House Martin and 2 Siskin.
Waders in Jackson's Bay included 3 Sanderling, 6 Dunlin, 2 Knot, 31 Ringed Plover, 1 Common Sandpiper and 25 Redshank, 11 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Common Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank and 5 Swift were at Johnson's Marsh, 11 Knot, 15 Dunlin and 15 Common Tern were at Scalby Mills, a Redstart, 20 Meadow Pipit, 1 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff and a Willow Tit were at Ravenscar and a Honey Buzzard was seen from the Wykeham Raptor viewpoint.

At Wykeham South Lake there was a juvenile Marsh Harrier, 3 Common Sandpiper and 2 Egyptian Geese with a minimum of 5 goslings.
At Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) there was a Teal, 8 Snipe, 1 Green Sandpiper and 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 58 Common and 2 Sandwich Tern were at Scalby Mills, 30 Swift were feeding over Scalby Nab and a Little Egret, 6 Teal, a Greenshank, a Redstart and 3 Green Sandpiper were on Johnson's Marsh.

Migration watch; 06.20 - 11.00hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver, 5 Fulmar north, 4 Cormorant, 1 Shag, 1 Common Scoter north, 21 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 29 Knot, 38 Dunlin, 16 Sanderling, 36 Redshank, 5 Turnstone, 1 Whimbrel, 3 Common Gull, 1 Little Gull, 6 Sandwich Tern north, 16 Common Tern + 3 north, 1 Arctic Tern, 1 Swift + 1 north and 1 Swallow.
A Red-necked Grebe that arrived from the south before dropping on the sea at Long Nab was the first of the year, also in the area were 2 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, a Reed Warbler, a Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Goldcrest and 1 Pied Flycatcher.
Elsewhere 42 Oystercatcher, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Sanderling, 27 Redshank, 17 Ringed Plover and 11 Dunlin were in Jackson's Bay, 7 Knot and 55 Common Tern were at Scalby Mills, 4 Swift, 2 Redstart, 7 Whinchat, 1 Wheatear, 2 Willow Warbler and 2 Chiffchaff were at Ravenscar, 2 Whinchat, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Willow Warbler and 2 Chiffchaff were on Castle Hill, a Spotted Flycatcher and 5 Swift were at Newlands Dale and 3 Green Sandpiper and a Little Egret were on Johnson's Marsh.

Migration watch; 06.00 - 09.45hrs and 17.55 - 19.00hrs.
Although coverage was at its lowest for some time it was still evident that new migrants had arrived.
A BARRED WARBLER was the highlight, trapped and ringed at Long Nab while in the area were singles of Common Sandpiper and Kingfisher, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap, 3 Chiffchaff, 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Spotted Flycatcher and 2 Pied Flycatcher.
On the move there (south unless stated) were 2 Oystercatcher, 3 Ringed Plover, 1 Golden Plover, 1 Whimbrel, 8 Black-headed Gull north, 1 Common Gull, 1 Sandwich Tern, 2 Common Tern, 1 Tree Pipit, 5 Siskin, 3 Linnet and 1 Crossbill.
Elsewhere 9 Teal and a Common Sandpiper were in Cornelian Bay where there were also 60 House Martin and 12 Swift, a Little Egret, 1 Common Sandpiper and a Wheatear were seen at Wykeham South Lake, 110 Common Tern were at Scalby Mills, a Little Egret, a Redshank, a Common Sandpiper and 3 Green Sandpiper were on Johnson's Marsh and a Redstart was seen on Castle Hill.

Migration watch; 05.30 - 17.00hrs.
There were plenty of migrants left over from yesterday with evident arrivals taking place throughout the afternoon, seen between Cloughton Wyke and North Bay were 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Redstart, 19 Whinchat, 1 Wheatear, 10 Blackcap, 7 Garden Warbler, 7 Whitethroat, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 28 Willow Warbler, 32 Chiffchaff, 3 Goldcrest, 3 Spotted Flycatcher and 25 Pied Flycatcher.
On Castle Hill there were 3 Whinchat, 1 Wheatear, 1 Redstart, 1 Blackcap, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 31 Whitethroat, 20 Willow Warbler, 10 Chiffchaff, 5 Pied Flycatcher and 3 Spotted Flycatcher and at Ravenscar there were 3 Redstart, 3 Whinchat, 1 Wheatear, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 10 Whitethroat, 16 Willow Warbler, 4 Chiffchaff and 1 Pied Flycatcher.
On the move (south unless stated) were 3 Cormorant + 19 north, 90 Teal, 1 Tufted Duck, 35 Common Scoter + 40 north, 1 Marsh Harrier north, 1 Common Buzzard north, 1 Kestrel, 44 Oystercatcher, 14 Ringed Plover, 16 Golden Plover + 2 north, 1 Knot, 8 Dunlin + 1 north, 2 Ruff, 4 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew, 7 Greenshank, 3 Wood Sandpiper, 9 Turnstone + 2 north, 55 Black-headed Gull, 3 Common Gull, 22 Great Black-backed Gull + 10 north, 6 Sandwich Tern + 8 north, 14 Common Tern + 13 north, 1 juvenile Black Tern, 37 Swallow, 1 Alba, 3 Siskin and 27 Linnet.
Elsewhere 11 Ringed Plover, a Sanderling and a Dunlin were in Jacksons Bay, 2 Ringed Plover, 2 Redshank, 45 Common and 25 Sandwich Tern were at Scalby Mills, the 2 Spotted Redshank, a Greenshank, a Redshank, 6 Green Sandpiper, 2 Little Egret and a Kingfisher were seen on Johnson's Marsh, the Scaup was still on Peasholm Lake, 2 juvenile Lesser Black-backed and a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull were at Long Nab and 3 Common Sandpiper and a Turtle Dove were at Harwood Dale Lake.

Migration watch; 06.10 - 19.00hrs.
The second ICTERINE WARBLER within a week was the days highlight, it was seen dropping out the sky at Long Nab where it showed only to the finder in the cover crop hedge before vanishing.
Other migrants in the Long Nab area included 2 Redstart, a minimum of 13 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 7 Whinchat, 3 Wheatear, 15 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap, 13 Chiffchaff, 5 Willow Warbler and 1 Fieldfare.
Elsewhere 2 Pied Flycatcher, 2 Wilow Warbler and a Wheatear were at Ravenscar and 3 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Redstart, 5 Whinchat, 11 Wheatear, 5 Willow Warbler, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Blackcap and 1 Lesser Whitethroat were on Castle Hill.
Waders seen included the 2 Spotted Redshank, 7 Green Sandpiper, 1 Common Sandpiper and a Redshank were on Johnson's Marsh, 4 Common Sandpiper were at Cloughton Wyke, 1 was at Long Nab and 2 were in North Bay, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull was seen in fields at Long Nab.
On the move (south unless stated) were 57 Fulmar + 6 north, 2 Manx Shearwater, 3 Cormorant + 3 north, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Greylag Goose north, 137 Teal, 8 Common Scoter, 30 Oystercatcher, 5 Golden Plover, 16 Ringed Plover, 36 Dunlin, 11 Whimbrel, 3 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 1 Green Sandpiper, 2 Turnstone, 7 Arctic Skua + 2 north, 1 juvenile Mediterranean Gull north, 49 Black-headed Gull, 9 Common Gull, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 27 Great Black-backed Gull + 2 north, 600 Kittiwake north, 4 Common Tern, 1 Black Tern, 1 Swift, 1 Sand Martin, 76 Swallow, 21 House Martin, 1 Flava, 1 Alba and 17 Linnet.

A rather quiet day, on the move at Long Nab (all south) were 1 Whimbrel, 5 Swallow, 1 Flava and 6 Linnet.
On Johnson's Marsh there were 2 Spotted Redshank and 4 Green Sandpiper.

On the move (south unless stated) were 2 Red-throated Diver + 1 north, 1 Shag north, 5 Cormorant + 1 north, 18 Fulmar, 2461 Gannet, 1 Grey heron, 134 Teal + 36 north, 8 Wigeon north, 7 Common Scoter + 126 north, 3TR9 Oystercatcher, 2 Sanderling, 7 Dunlin, 1 juvenile Curlew Sandpiper 07.38hrs, 3 Turnstone, 9 Knot + 1 north, 13 Redshank, 2 Greenshank, 1 Curlew, 1 Arctic Skua, 23 Black-headed Gull + 2 north, 2 Common Gull, 12 Great Black-backed Gull, 40 Kittiwake, 1 Arctic Tern, 17 Common Tern, 5 Sandwich Tern north, 2 Black Tern at 06.09hrs, 6 Swift and 2 Swallow.
Elsewhere the 2 Spotted Redshank and 4 Green Sandpiper were still on Johnson's Marsh along with the Little Egret and 13 Teal and 2 Whimbrel and 2 Common Sandpiper were in Cornelian Bay.

On the move (south unless stated) were 18 Fulmar, 6 Cormorant + 1 north, 6 Gadwall, 10 Teal, 2 Pintail, 17 Common Scoter north, 1 Sparrowhawk, 138 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 7 Golden Plover, 86 Knot, 12 Dunlin, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 11 Whimbrel, 8 Redshank, 5 Greenshank, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Little Gull, 8 Black-headed Gull, 9 Common Gull, 1 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, 2 Sandwich tern + 3 north, 8 Common Tern, 1 juvenile Black Tern, 1 Swift, 34 Swallow, 2 House Martin, 2 Flava, 8 Siskin and 18 Linnet.
Migrant numbers were similar to yesterday, seen between Long Nab and Castle Hill were 1 Grey Wagtail, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Whinchat, 3 Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Whitethroat and 8 Willow Warbler.
On Johnson's Marsh there were now 2 Spotted Redshank as well as 4 Green Sandpiper, a Dunlin, a Snipe, 3 Teal and the Little Egret and in Jackson's Bay there were 53 Oystercatcher, 10 Redshank, 4 Dunlin, 2 Curlew, 1 Ringed Plover and 1 Little Egret.

Migration watch; 17.30 - 20.00hrs.
An ICTERINE WARBLER by the skate park on Castle Hill was the best of a small bunch of migrants seen throughout the day.
Recorded between Long Nab and South Cliff were 3 Common Sandpiper, 1 juvenile Cuckoo (Long Nab), 1 Wheatear, 5 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroat, 3 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff and 9 Willow Warbler.
On the move during the afternoon (south unless stated) were 1 ringtail Hen Harrier at 15.40hrs, 2 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Greenshank, 8 Black-headed Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 3 Swift, 5 Swallow, 2 House Martin, 2 Meadow Pipit and 34 Linnet.
A Spotted Redshank was on Johnson's Marsh along with the Little Egret and 3 Green Sandpiper, a Little Egret, 9 Teal and 334 Greylag Geese were on Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) and 47 Grey Partridge were counted between Long Nab and Scalby Lodge.

Migration watch; 10.40 - 11.45hrs and 18.15 - 19.40hrs.
On the move (north unless stated) were 53 Fulmar + 2 south, 1 Manx Shearwater, 1 Sooty Shearwater, 4 Cormorant, 11 Wigeon, 35 Teal, 1 Mallard, 1 Tufted Duck, 15 Common Scoter, 31 Oystercatcher + 3 south, 1 Redshank south, 1 Arctic Skua, 1 juvenile Long-tailed Skua, 1 Great Skua + 1 south, 5 Sandwich Tern + 1 south, 1 Arctic Tern and 25 Common Tern.
At Wykeham South Lake there were 6 Teal, 15 Tufted Duck, 51 Coot, 6 Common Sandpiper, 1 Dunlin, 1 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull and 22 Lesser Black-backed Gull while on Johnson's Marsh there were 3 Green Sandpiper, 4 Teal and the Little Egret.

Migration watch; 07.50 - 11.15hrs and 17.20 - 19.40hrs.
On the move (north unless stated) were 49 Fulmar + 10 south, 1 Manx Shearwater, 6 Cormorant + 3 south, 7 Teal, 1 Common Scoter south, 3 Velvet Scoter, 1 Oystercatcher, 2 Curlew south, 3 Black-headed Gull south, 1 Common Gull south, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gull south, 13 Great Black-backed Gull + 1 south, 260 Kittiwake, 13 Sandwich Tern +23 south, 32 Common Tern, 1 Arctic Tern and 8 Swallow south.
Kingfishers appeared to be on the move with singles at Johnson's Marsh and at Crook Ness, also in the Long Nab area were 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap, 4 Chiffchaff, 1 Willow Warbler and a Common Sandpiper.
Also recorded at Johnson's Marsh were 11 Grey Heron, a Little Egret, 3 Green Sandpiper and a Teal, the autumns second Osprey flew east over Lowdales at 11.40hrs and a Yellow-legged Gull was at Scalby Mills.

Saturday 15th - Sunday 16th August 2015

Reports on the 15th consisted of a Common Sandpiper, 16 Turnstone and a Redshank at Scalby Mills with a Golden Plover heading south there and 14 Grey Heron, a Little Egret, 6 Teal and 3 Green Sandpiper on Johnson's Marsh.

On the 16th Johnson's Marsh held the Little Egret and 2 Green Sandpiper. Migrants were a little more evident along the coast with 4 Willow Warbler and 2 Lesser Whitethroat at Ravenscar and a Blackcap, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Chiffchaff and a Reed Bunting were along South Cliff. Three Whimbrel, a Knot and a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull were in Cornelian Bay.

No reports were received on the 13th.

Migration watch; 06.20 - 08.10hrs.
The 14th didn't really live up to expectations despite the promising weather conditions.
Migrant wise Castle Hill and South Cliff failed to produce anything other that presumed local breeders while Long Nab held just 4 Willow Warbler and a Whinchat!
Grounded waders on Johnson's Marsh were 2 Common and 2 Green Sandpiper, a Teal was also present there.
On the move (north unless stated) were 6 Cormorant, 29 Fulmar, 3 Manx Shearwater, 6 Teal + 11 south, 108 Common Scoter, 2 Arctic Skua + 3 south, 1 Pomarine Skua south, 31 Black-headed Gull, 7 Common Gull south and 13 Common Tern.

Migration watch; 06.40 - 12.00hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 13 Cormorant, 1 Mallard, 4 Teal north, 1 Common Scoter north, 5 Sanderling, 2 Dunlin, 1 Curlew, 4 Swallow, 1 House Martin and 2 Swift.
In the Scalby Mills - Jackson's Bay area was a Little Egret, 37 Oystercatcher, 1 Ringed Plover, 5 Sanderling, 3 Dunlin, 6 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel, 5 Bar-tailed Godwit, 12 Redshank, 23 Turnstone, 1 juvenile Ruff, 1 juvenile Mediterranean Gull and at least 300 Common Tern.
Two juvenile Ruff were on South Cliff golf course before flying off north, while in Cornelian Bay there were 33 Oystercatcher, 28 Redshank, 1 Knot, 37 Curlew, 1 Whimbrel and 21 Common Tern, on Johnson's Marsh there were 14 Grey Heron, a Little Egret and a Dunlin and a female Marsh Harrier was seen at Seamer Tip.

Migration watch; 07.30 - 11.30hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 5 Common Scoter + 22 north, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Dunlin, 1 Sanderling, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Great Skua, 1 Pomarine Skua, 1 Swift, 131 Swallow, 7 Sand Martin, 2 House Martin, 17 Linnet and 4 Goldfinch.
Migrants seen along the coast included a Short-eared Owl between Burniston and Scalby, 2 Whinchat (South Cliff), 1 Lesser Whitethroat on South Cliff, 6 Willow Warbler (4 Long Nab, 2 Holbeck) and 12 Chiffchaff at Long Nab.
In Jackson's Bay there were 265 Common Tern, 2 Arctic Tern and a Bar-tailed Godwit, 120 Common Scoter, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, a Whimbrel and 5 Common Tern were in Cornelian Bay and a juvenile Cuckoo was at Pye Rigg.

At Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) there were 2 Little Egret, a juvenile Marsh Harrier, a Golden Plover, a Snipe, a Ruff and a Green Sandpiper while a Little Egret and a Snipe were on Johnson's Marsh.

Saturday 8th - Sunday 9th August 2015

A quiet day on the 8th with the only report being of 9 Sanderling in Cayton Bay.

The 9th was a much more active day...
Migration watch; 06.20 - 11.30hrs and 14.05 - 16.05hrs.
Three juvenile Caspian Gulls flew south offshore during the day, two together at 08.35hrs with another at 15.00hrs, also moving (south unless stated) were 3 Fulmar + 2 north, 4 Common Scoter + 42 north, 21 Oystercatcher, 1 Golden Plover, 14 Whimbrel, 1 Green Sandpiper, 111 Dunlin, 33 Sanderling, 1 Knot, 6 Redshank, 2 Curlew, 31 Black-headed Gull, 1 Arctic Tern, 14 Common Tern + 3 north, 1 Puffin north, 97 Swift, 22 Swallow, 5 Sand Martin, 7 Goldfinch and 8 Linnet.
Elsewhere 15 Grey Heron, a Greenshank and 2 Snipe were on Johnson's Marsh, 2 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull, 1 Mediterranean Gull and 34 Curlew were in Cornelian Bay, a Willow Warbler was in Cornelian Ravine while 3 were at Long Nab and 2 Mediterranean Gull a Tufted Duck and a Grey Wagtail were at the Mere.

On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver, 3 Cormorant, 29 Fulmar, 5 Shelduck, 5 Teal + 1 north, 352 Common Scoter north, 4 Oystercatcher, 1 Turnstone, 12 Knot, 4 Whimbrel, 1 Great Skua, 21 Black-headed Gull + 6 north, 1 Common Gull, 244 Kittiwake, 9 Sandwich Tern + 52 north, 1 adult Roseate Tern north at 07.55hrs, 77 Swift, 6 Sand Martin, 8 Swallow, 1 House Martin, 2 Flava, 2 Meadow Pipit and 4 Linnet.
At Long Nab there were 10 Willow Warbler and a Grey Wagtail, a Green Sandpiper was on Johnson's Marsh,
The 2 Common Crane were reported from Potter Brompton Carr (please note there is strictly no access to this site).

Migration watch; 07.45 - 11.55hrs.
The clear highlight of the day was yet another good bird found in Wykeham Forest, this time a BLACK STORK that flew northwest over the Raptor viewpoint there at 11.10hrs. The third Black Stork in as many years in Scarborough!
On the move at Long Nab (south unless stated) were 2 Red-throated Diver, 5 Fulmar + 2 north, 13 Cormorant north, 7 Canada Geese, 37 Common Scoter north, 41 Oystercatcher, 7 Knot, 12 Dunlin, 1 Whimbrel, 26 Black-headed Gull, 5 Common Gull, 354 Kittiwake, 9 Sandwich Tern + 42 north, 29 Common Tern + 4 north, 53 Swift, 11 Sand Martin, 30 Swallow, 4 Goldfinch and 25 Linnet.
Elsewhere the juvenile Ruff on Johnson's Marsh was joined by a Common and a Green Sandpiper, 4 Willow Warbler were at Long Nab and 3 Yellow-legged Gulls, an adult and 2 juveniles were at Wykeham South Lake.

A Minke Whale was seen heading south past Long Nab.

Migration watch; 06.40 - 09.20hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Fulmar + 2 north, 8 Cormorant north, 16 Teal, 1 Eider north, 27 Common Scoter north, 15 Oystercatcher, 1 Grey Plover, 3 Knot, 4 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew, 9 Black-headed Gull, 14 Sandwich Tern + 8 north, 1 Arctic Tern, 28 Swift, 5 Sand Martin, 12 Swallow, 2 House Martin, 7 Goldfinch and 13 Linnet.
A juvenile Ruff was on Johnson's Marsh, a juvenile Yellow-legged Gull and a Willow Warbler were seen at Long Nab, 42 Oystercatcher, 18 Redshank, 37 Curlew and 13 Turnstone were between Scalby Mills and Jackson's Bay and a Storm Petrel was seen flying round mist nets in Cornelian Bay late on but managed to avoid being caught, a Short-eared Owl was also seen there a dusk.

On the move (south unless stated) were 11 Fulmar + 3 north, 1 Cormorant + 8 north, 11 Teal, 57 Common Scoter north, 1 Marsh Harrier, 9 Oystercatcher + 4 north, 1 Knot, 2 Sanderling, 2 Dunlin, 2 Curlew, 1 Turnstone, 30 Black-headed Gull + 3 north, 53 Sandwich Tern north, 10 Swift, 234 Swallow + 4 north and 13 Sand Martin.
On Johnson's Marsh there were 10 Grey Heron and a Green Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper was at Wykeham South Lake, 2 Willow Warbler were at Long Nab and between Jackson's Bay and Scalby Mills there were 14 Oystercatcher, 9 Redshank, 17 Turnstone, 1 Sanderling, 6 Common Sandpiper, 2 Common Tern and 15 Sandwich Tern.

Yet another great day to kick off August with some good coastal movement with a couple of welcome additions to the year list.
On the move (south unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver north, 1 Sooty Shearwater north, 9 Cormorant + 23 north, 13 Mallard, 20 Teal north, 2 Tufted Duck north, 4 Common Scoter + 234 north, 4 Eider north, 1 Kestrel, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Grey Plover, 4 Ringed Plover, 12 Sanderling, 67 Dunlin, 1 Knot, 3 Redshank, 2 Turnstone, 1 Black-tailed Godwit, 18 Whimbrel, 1 Curlew, 16 Black-headed Gull + 13 north, 1 Little Gull north, 8 Sandwich Tern + 229 north, 13 Common Tern + 49 north, 1 Arctic Tern, 2 Puffin north, 45 Swift, 5 Swallow, 9 Sand Martin and 1 Flava.
A juvenile Caspian Gull was present on the rocks off Cromer Point along with 2 juvenile Yellow-legged Gull and 70+ other Gulls before they headed off south, what was possibly another Yellow-legged Gull was seen following Trawlers off Long Nab.
In Jackson's Bay there were 3 Ringed Plover and a Dunlin, 4 Teal, a Whimbrel and 10 Common Tern were in Cornelian Bay, 2 Common Sandpiper were at Scalby Mills, a Red Kite and a Hobby were seen from the Wykeham Raptor viewpoint while another Hobby was seen over Harwood Dale and a Willow Warbler was in Crook Ness and a Lesser Whitethroat and a Whitethroat were in Pipe Gully.

Migration watch; 06.20 - 10.45hrs and 11.05 - 11.30hrs.
A good start to the month, firstly the 2 elusive Common Crane were seen again flying west over Wykeham South Lake towards Potter Brompton Carr (no general access) where they appeared to drop in.
Also at Wykeham South Lake the first autumn passage Osprey was seen fishing as well as 5 Egyptian Geese, a Shoveler and a Wigeon.
On the move (south unless stated) 1 Red-throated Diver, 3 Fulmar + 1 north, 126 Cormorant north, 1 Shag north, 10 Teal north, 375 Common Scoter north, 2 Oystercatcher + 1 north, 3 Golden Plover, 1 Whimbrel, 3 Curlew north, 13 Black-headed Gull + 86 north, 8 Common Gull + 3 north, 2 Great Black-backed Gull, 1 Sandwich Tern + 20 north, 1 Auk sp + 3 north, 32 Swift, 9 Sand Martin, 9 Swallow and 6 Linnet.
Elsewhere the Scaup remained on Peasholm Park (present there since March now!), a Bar-tailed Godwit, a Little Egret, 47 Sandwich Tern and 3 recently fledged Kestrel were in Cornelian Bay and a Green Sandpiper, a Teal, a Little Egret and 8 Grey heron were on Johnson's Marsh.

Migration watch; 17.25 - 19.10hrs.
A very quiet end to what has been a rather interesting month.
On the move (south unless stated) were 3 Fulmar + 1 north, 19 Common Scoter north, 3 Oystercatcher + 5 north, 1 Arctic Skua, 11 Black-headed Gull + 6 north, 1 Common Gull + 4 north, 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 1 Great Black-backed Gull north, 16 Sandwich Tern + 2 north and 1 Goldfinch.
The only other reports were of a Dunlin, a Little Ringed Plover, 6 Lapwing, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 18 Pied Wagtail, 11 Tufted Duck and 22 Coot at Wykeham South Lake along with a selection of raptors seen from the Wykeham Raptor viewpoint with highlights being 2 Honey Buzzard and 2 Hobby.
