A Common Sandpiper was spotted at Scalby Mills today, and a Lesser Whitethroat was in blackthorn at the side of the path from there to the cliff top. 323 Swallows flew south past Long Nab and 15 Swifts flew over Lindhead School this evening. At Troutsdale there were 25 Mandarins: 2 males, 3 females and 20 ducklings (broods of 5 and 15). The highlight of the day, however, has been a
