Migration watch; 07.15 – 11.40hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 7 Common Scoter north, 1 Red-throated
Diver, 1 Fulmar north, 2 Cormorant + 5 north, 20 Dunlin, 73 Kittiwake north, 14
Black-headed Gull, 5 Common Gull + 2 north, 2 Auk sp, 7 Skylark, 1 Swallow, 4
Starling in off and south, 3 Redwing, 6 Tree Sparrow, 5 Alba, 24 Meadow Pipit,
3 Rock Pipit, 1 Chaffinch + 15 north, 1 Brambling, 51 Linnet and 3 Reed
Bunting.
Present were 1 Golden Plover, 20 Skylark, 3 Yellow-browed Warbler, 35
Goldcrest, 11 Blackbird, 2 Redwing, 4 Song thrush, 60 Robin, 1 Whinchat, 1
Stonechat, 25 Dunnock, 40 Chaffinch, 2 Brambling, 250 Linnet, 2 Yellowhammer, 9
Reed Bunting and 4 Lapland Bunting.
At Ravenscar there was a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Redstart, a Blackcap, 3
Chiffchaff, 50 Goldcrest, 40 Robin, 15 Song thrush and 10 Redwing.
At Cloughton Wyke there was a Wheatear, 2 Chiffchaff, 25 Robin and 3 Brambling.
A Yellow-browed Warbler was on Castle Hill and the Black-tailed Godwit and
Dunlin were on Johnson’s Marsh.
Two Grey Plover, a Stonechat and a Chiffchaff were at Cromer Point, two White-fronted
Geese were on Harwood Dale Lake, a Little Egret and 6 Wigeon were in Scalby
Beck, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 30 Oystercatcher were in Jackson’s Bay and another
Yellow-browed Warbler was in Peasholm Glen.
