Wednesday 16th January

There were again 2 Great Northern Divers in the South Bay this morning, and 14 Red-throated Divers feeding off Long Nab. A Chiffchaff was seen at Crook Ness and a Great Grey Shrike was spotted once more at May Moss. In Wykeham Forest this afternoon about 30 Lesser Redpolls were seen, plus 3 Common Redpolls, about 40 Siskins, 13 Crossbills, 3 Marsh Tits and a Willow Tit. In the Givendale/Dalby area  there were 3 Bramblings with about 100 Chaffinches. There was a Whimbrel in a field near Cloughton Field Farm, and 150 Fieldfares just south of Turkey Carpet.
