Tuesday 16th – Saturday 20th February 2016

A rather quiet few days…

The 16th produced 105 Golden Plover, 4 Gadwall 3 Shoveler, 5 Goldeneye, 5 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 580 Common Gull, 169 Herring Gull, 80 Black-headed Gull and 53 Yellowhammer at Wykeham South Lake and a Brambling at Ings Farm.
On the 18th 11 Brambling and a Green Sandpiper were seen at Seamer Tip, 2 Snow Bunting were at Long Nab and a Raven and a Merlin were seen over Brow Moor.
Thursday 18th February 2016
A Black-necked Grebe in the Harbour, 14 White-fronted Geese and 3 Pink-footed Geese were at Wykeham South lake, a Chiffchaff was at Seamer sewage works, 4 Little Egret and 4 Dunlin were on Folkton Carr and 8 Gadwall, 6 Shoveler a Shelduck and 2 Oystercatcher at Seamer Tip were the pick of the reports on the 19th.
The 20th saw a Black-necked Grebe in the Harbour, a Goosander at the Mere and the return on the fine drake AMERICAN WIGEON to Scalby Mills after having presumably spent a little time at Castle Howard.
