At Brompton-by-Sawdon today early morning a distant

were 3 Crossbills and 2 Willow Tits whilst nearby at Hilla Green a Dipper, a
Brambling and a Mandarin Duck entertained another observer.
On Seamer Road Mere at least 9 Goosanders, 6 of which
were drakes, and a pair of the same sere on Throxenby Mere. A Great White Egret
was reported from Wykeham South Lake at 14.30 and it or possibly a second bird
was at Yedingham near Stockhills Farm at 14.50.
