A kingfisher was seen on the River Hertford by the footbridge below Staxton, and a Great Northern Diver was in the outer harbour. 3 Mediterranean Gulls (an adult plus first and second calendar year birds) were roosting with about 75 Black-headed Gulls in North bay, where there were also 2 Purple Sandpipers. 17 Red-throated Divers and 2 Guillemots were in South Bay, and 23 Purple Sandpipers were on East Pier. The Cattle Egret was again near Seamer Tip pool.
