Tuesday 4th March

The two Tundra Bean Geese were still with the Greylag Goose flock at Wykeham Lakes, mostly in the field immediately south of the Water Sports Lake. Also there were a single Pink-footed Goose, 2 Shelduck, 10 Teal, Wigeon, 22 Goldeneye, Wigeon, 2 Lbb Gulls, 7 Snipe and 9 Oystercatchers. Two grey Partridge by the A64 opposite Seamer roundabout. A Bittern was found at Potter Brompton Carr (not viewable from Haybridge), also there were 3 Great White Egrets, 2 Little Egrets, 4 Pintail, Green Sandpiper, Cetti's Warbler, and a Lapland Bunting flew west. Lots of Crossbills reported from the May beck area plus Green Woodpecker. At Harwood Dale Lake: 70+ Wigeon, 2 Teal, Cormorant, 2 Oystercatchers. The three White-fronted Geese were still at Cloughton Pond. 60 Pink-footed Geese flew north over Woodlands Ravine. A herd of Whooper Swans over Crossgates early morning, heard but not seen.
