Friday 14th - Saturday 15th March 2014

A quiet few days. The 14th produced 3 Red-throated Diver and 16 Guillemot in South Bay, 20 Teal on Flotmanby Carr, a Dunlin on Cayton Carr, 3 Siskin in Falsegrave Park and 7 Alba north along South Cliff.

The 15th was only marginally better, past Long Nab (north unless stated) were 1 Red-throated Diver + 1 south, 36 Fulmar + 1 south, 2 Gannet + 24 south, 6 Cormorant + 2 south, 5 Shag + 2 south, 5 Eider, 5 Common Scoter south, 19 Black-headed Gull south, 2 Common Gull + 39 south, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 92 Herring Gull + 145 south, 13 Great Black-backed Gull + 21 south, 35 Auk sp + 2 south, 1 Meadow Pipit south, 2 Alba south, 1 Goldfinch south and 7 Linnet south.
Elsewhere 2 Pink-footed Geese, an Egyptian Goose, 1 Gadwall, 1 Goldeneye and 3 Lesser Black-backed Gull were on Wykeham South Lake, a Great Crested Grebe was off Long Nab, 8 Tufted Duck and 2 Grey Wagtail were on Valley Road duck pond and 2 Chiffchaff were in Crook Ness.
