Tuesday 15th - Wednesday 16th December 2015

After a birdless day on the 15th the 16th at least delivered some bits of interest....

Migration watch; 08.15 - 10.30hrs.
On the move (south unless stated) were 6 Red-thoated Diver + 3 north, 1 Fulmar, 1 Shag north, 2 Wigeon, 2 Teal, 2 Eider, 1 Velvet Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 159 Herring Gull + 2 argentatus, 63 Great Black-backed Gull, 2 Guillemot + 6 north and 1 Razorbill.
A few Thrushes were evident at Long Nab with 9 Blackbird and 7 Song Thrush.
A pair of Stonechat were at Cromer Point while a male was in Jackson's Bay, up to 60 Curlew and 35 Lapwing were on Scalby Lodge Pond, a Gadwall and a Kittiwake were the highlights at a quiet Scalby Mills, 3 Black-necked Grebe and 48 Purple Sandpiper were in the Harbour, 16 Gadwall and 4 Shoveler were on Seamer Tip and the Mealy Redpoll was still present at Wykeham South Lake where there were 84 Wigeon and 40 Teal.
