2 Shelduck, 50 Meadow Pipits and 30 Pied Wagtails were on Cayton Carr this morning, and a Chiffchaff and 2 Little Egrets were by the sewage works there. Along the Hertford between Cayton and Flixton there were 85 Teal, 1500 Lapwings and a
Water Rail, while at New Dike, in the Seamer Tip area, there were 14 Teal, a Little Egret, a Kingfisher and 6 Grey Partridge. 11 Gadwall and a Water Rail were seen at Seamer Tip pool; 5 Grey Partridge and 2 Common Snipe were seen at Taylor Way; and 5 Goosanders were seen at Burton Riggs. At Seamer Road Mere there were 25 Tufted Duck, 6 Goosanders, a Coot, 4 Little Grebes and a Tawny Owl. 12 Ringed Plovers were at Scalby Mills, where there was also a Black-headed Gull that was ringed as an adult near Stravanger on 23/5/15, and is now on its fifth winter in Scarborough.
