In excess of 50 Brambling at Ellerburn Bank, Dalby this morning and a drake Goosander at Seamer Tip Pool. A Stonechat at Cromer Point Pond, 15 Redshank, 10 Oystercatcher and five Curlew at Jackson's Bay. A Barn Owl hunting in the area. At Potter Brompton Carr viewed from Haybridge: One Great White Egret, two Little Egret, a cream crown Marsh Harrier, 19 Greylag Geese, two Canada Geese, two Mallard and approximately 400 Lapwing in flight. Three Brambling with the large mixed finch flock. At Johnson's Marsh: One redhead Goosander, one Shelduck, four Wigeon, 15 Teal, four Grey Heron and a Common Buzzard. A Water Rail at Newlands Dale Pond and 12 Crossbill around Wykeham Raptor Viewpoint. At least one Dipper singing on the River Derwent at Wrench Green and three Siskin, one Jay and a Barn Owl in the vicinity. Three Greater White-Fronted Geese again today at Cloughton. Approximately 150 each of Golden Plover and Lapwing today off Old Wives Way, Saltersgate, plus 30 Fieldfare, two Mistle Thrush, four Little Grebe, two Common Buzzard and a Great Spotted Woodpecker. Perhaps the most notable record today was that of a HUMPBACK WHALE off North Bay this morning, finally moving off south.
