Friday 26th April

A male Marsh Harrier passed by Long Nab early this morning, travelling north, and a Cuckoo was reported from the west side of Wykeham Lakes. Wheatears have been seen today at Marine Drive (on the rock armour near lamp post 50), on the North Bay miniature golf course, on Fylingdales Moor (2 individuals), and at Seamer Tip (a Greenland race individual). Also present on Fylingdales Moor were a Ring Ouzel and a Stonechat, and at Seamer Tip there was also a Whinchat by New Dyke. There were 6 singing Lesser Whitethroats in the vicinity of the tip, and 5 Whimbrels and a Green Sandpiper near Star Carr crossroads. A Common Sandpiper was seen at Scalby Mills and a Little Egret at Johnson's Marsh.
