Hen Harriers are unfortunately hard to come by in Scarborough these days so two records today is pretty good by recent standards, the first was a ringtail that flew south past Long Nab at 09.40hrs and the second was of a Male heading northeast over Hilla Green at 15.30hrs.
Also on the move south were 7 Cormorant, 22 Black-headed Gull, 14 Meadow Pipit, 3 Rock Pipit, 1 Greenfinch, 5 Goldfinch, 2 Siskin, 6 Linnet, 4 Redpoll sp, 1 Lesser Redpoll and 1 Reed Bunting.
Grounded migrants seen between Cloughton and Cornelian Bay were 1 Pink-footed Goose, 2 Redwing, 1 Song Thrush, 111 Fiedfare, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler (Valley Road), 3 Goldcrest, 5 Lesser Redpoll, 2 Reed Bunting, 3 Lapland Bunting (1 Long Nab, 2 Cromer Point), 3 Yellowhammer and 3 Snow Bunting (in off at Long Nab).
Elsewhere 40+ Crossbill were seen in Wykeham Forest, on Flotmanby Carr there was 1 Little Egret, 1 Whooper Swan and 18 Wigeon and a Great Crested Grebe was in South Bay.
