Early morning a
Merlin flew over Cliff Top House near Long Nab. A
Short-eared Owl flew in off the sea by Scalby Lodge Pond. 126 Wigeon were present at Scalby Mills and a Velvet Scoter flew past there also. A
Great White Egret, 21 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, 11 Goldeneye, 23 Teal, 15 Wigeon and 7 Pochard were present at Wykeham South Lake, while 2 juvenile Whooper Swans passed south. In the Dixon's/Givendale area of Dalby Forest 23 Crossbills were spotted, plus 2 Willow Tits, 3 Lesser Redpolls, a Woodcock and 4 Jays. A flock of 60+ Siskin were feeding by the river in Wrench Green, along with a Willow Tit, 3 Marsh Tits, 2 Treecreepers, 9+ Redwings and a Dipper.
