Today started badly for a Guillemot in the harbour which was dispatched by a Great Black-backed Gull. Also in the harbour was a Great-crested Grebe. Wykeham South Lake hosted a drake
Velvet Scoter, 6 Goldeneye and 420+ Greylag Geese. 30+ Fieldfare were spotted near Ruston Carr bridge, and 11 Whooper Swans remained in a stubble field at the west end of Flotmanby Carrs. At Burton Riggs there were 3 Goosander, 2 Goldeneye, a Kingfisher and a Woodcock, while at Seamer Road mere there were a male and a female Goldeneye plus a male Goosander. A Little Egret was seen near Thornton Dale.
