Storm force northerlies displaced many seabirds today. A Long-tailed Duck was in the harbour, eventually leaving north. A Little Auk in the harbour mouth, and 3 Purple Sandpipers on the lighthouse steps. Highlights past Long Nab were 31 Little Auks (30N, 1S), 2 Puffins, 6 Manx Shearwaters, 6 Sooty Shearwaters, 2 Great Skuas, 110 Gannets, 148 Kittiwakes, Knot, and 3 Dunlin. The Dipper still in Peasholm Glen. A Green Sandpiper, Snipe and Little Egret at Thornton Carrs. Three Goosanders still at Burton Riggs.
