Wednesday 20th March

A Raven flew east over Hutton Buscel early this morning. Highlights from Long Nab this morning include a Whimbrel at Crook Ness, 9 Whooper Swans going north, and 2 Sandwich Terns also going north (the earliest record of these for Scarborough). Later in the day at Long Nab a Wheatear came in off the sea after briefly landing on a boat, and 4 White and 31 Pied Wagtails were in the bare field north of the observation hut. 2 Wheatears were also seen above Snainton round midday before flying off northwards. A Buzzard, a Sparrowhawk and 2 Chiffchaffs were at Seamer Road Mere, 9 Gadwall and 2 Oystercatchers were at Brompton Ponds, and 2 Chiffchaffs and a Brimstone butterfly were seen at Burton Riggs.
