Sunday 3rd November

Early this morning a Little Auk was sadly seen crashing into the rock armour off Marine Drive. 41 Pink-footed Geese were seen heading north over Taylor Way, where a Jack Snipe was flushed from the pools. 2 Shoveler were at Seamer Tip pool, and a Great White Egret was near Wykeham Lakes in a flooded field, and later seen at the lake. At Cornelian Bay a Snow Bunting was seen flying north, a Puffin and 5 Red-throated Divers were in the bay, and 2 Stonechats and a Fieldfare were in the ravine. 5 Little Egrets were at Folkton sewage works and a Swallow flew north over Cayton Bay. Highlights from Long Nab include a Snow Bunting flying over the field north of the observatory, 2 Puffins and 9 Red-throated Divers offshore, a Woodcock flushed from "short hedge", 39 Pink-footed Geese flying south, and small numbers of common migrants on the move. A Brambling was at Givendale in Dalby Forest, and the Great Grey Shrike was spotted again in the Derwent Head Rigg area of Langdale Forest.
