The
first House Martin for the year was reported at about 17.30 this afternoon at
Hayburn Wyke.
Goshawks
were in evidence again at Wykeham Raptor View Point with a maximum 3 in view at
any one time and also a couple of Buzzards plus 4 Crossbills and 3 Siskins flew
over
At
Wykeham South Lake today’s count was 2 Shelduck, 2 Goldeneye, a Gadwall a
singing Chiffchaff but more unusual was a Water Rail flushed by a dog near to
the observation spot.
As
spring moves forward the number of Chiffchaffs is increasing and today there
were 5 singing birds at Burton Riggs this morning.
