A Woodcock was at Burton Riggs; a Little Egret and a Kingfisher were at Black Dike, Seamer Tip; and a Little Owl was at Metes Lane in Seamer. A Great Grey Shrike was showing clearly in the Derwent Head Rigg/ Low Woof Howe area of Langdale Forest, where there was also a Stonechat and small numbers of Crossbills. 7 Goldeneye, 8 Great Crested Grebes and a Pochard were at Wykeham South Lake, and a Pink-footed Goose was spotted in among a flock of Greylag Geese north of Darrells Low Farm. Highlights passing Long Nab include: a Velvet Scoter, 27 Eiders, a Great Northern Diver, a Little Auk and a Mediterranean Gull.
