Thursday 15th August

 An increase in gulls moving south past Long Nab this morning; a Little Gull (3cy), 4 Caspian Gulls, 2 Yellow-legged Gulls, 17 Lbb Gulls, and a Mediterranean Gull. 5 Whimbrel flew south. A Black Tern was at Scalby Ness rocks, also there were 120 Sandwich, 5 Arctic and 8 Common Terns. Hobby sightings came from Burniston and Middle Deepdale. At Potter Bromton Carr there were 5 Ruff, 4 Ringed Plover, LRP, Dunlin, 4 Greenshank, 5 Green Sandpipers, 45 Teal, 2 Great White Egrets, 8 Little Egrets, 8 Grey Herons, and a Marsh Harrier. The same Little Gull seen at Long Nab was on the silt lagoon by East Lake (NY Water Park) for 20 minutes this afternoon. Also on East Lake were 3 Pochard, 9 Teal, 16 Tufted Ducks, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Greenshank, 19 Lbb Gulls, and a juvenile Marsh Harrier (left south). In the Gristhorpe Bay area early morning; Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Little Egrets, 8 Grey Herons, a juvenile Caspian Gull, and 55 Common Scoter.
