Friday 6th September 2013

The day began slowly but a small arrival of migrants from 10am onwards made for a good day.
The Highlight though were 2 Raven flying north at Long Nab at 17.22hrs.
Migrants grounded between Castle and South Cliff were 10 Wheatear, 1 Whinchat, 7 Blackcap, 7 Whitethroat, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler, 10 Chiffchaff, 3 Willow Warbler, 1 Goldcrest and 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Goldcrest were also in Falsgrave Park.
On the move throughout the day (south unless stated) were single Red-throated Diver north, 96 Fulmar + 161 north, 17 Sooty Shearwater north, 2 Manx Shearwater + 72 north, 3 Cormorant, 2 Shag + 1 north, 3 Mallard, 1 Pintail + 1 north, 36 Teal + 48 north, 5 Wigeon + 32 north, 1 Greenshank, 1 Bar-tailed Godwit, 17 Arctic Skua + 3 north, 1 Long-tailed Skua, 11 Great Skua + 1 north, 137 Kittiwake north, 5 Sandwich Tern north, 1 Arctic Tern north, 16 Swallow, 4 House Martin and 2 Meadow Pipit.
