Saturday 14th September 2013

On the move (south unless stated) were 9 Red-throated Diver + 1 north, 3 Fulmar + 156 north, 3 Sooty Shearwater north, 1 Manx Shearwater north, 584 Gannet + 105 north, 1 Cormorant + 1 north, 7 Teal north, 7 Common Scoter north, 4 Arctic Skua + 1 north, 37 Little Gull north, 1 Black-headed Gull + 7 north, 2 Common Gull north, 8 Great Black-backed Gull + 121 north, 166 Kittiwake north, 7 Sandwich Tern, 2 Commic Tern north, 91 Auk sp north, 1 Puffin north, 2 Swallow and 2 Meadow Pipit + 6 in. A Golden Plover was also at Long Nab.
A Spotted Flycatcher was in the Rose Garden, a Redstart was at Scalby Beck and a Wheatear and 2 Chiffchaff were on Castle Hill. Roosting in the Harbour were 23 Turnstone, 2 Purple Sandpiper and 1 Redshank and a Greenshank was in Jackson's Bay and later at Scalby Mills. Marsh Harriers were seen at Killerby and at Flotmanby where there were 2 Little Egrets.
