Friday 30th - Saturday 31st August 2013

Friday was a slow day, a Wheatear was round Marine Drive and waders seen included 2 Greenshank on Flotmanby, a Greenshank on Johnson's and 5 Ringed Plover, 75 Oystercatcher, 4 Dunlin, 5 Redshank and a Curlew in Jackson's Bay.

The highlight on Saturday was a juvenile Long-tailed Skua south past Long Nab, also passing there (south unless stated) were 2 Red-throated Diver north, 11 Fulmar + 69 north, 1 Sooty Shearwater north, 8 Manx Shearwater + 2 north, 10 Cormorant, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Redshank, 2 Arctic Skua, 1 Great Skua, 27 Kittiwake, 3 Rock Pipit, 2 Meadow Pipit, 1 Alba and 5 Linnet, 8 Whinchat were also in the Long Nab area and a Wheatear was at Cloughton.
The 2 juvenile Curlew Sandpipers and 2 juvenile Little Stints were still on Flotmanby along with 2 Ringed Plover, 5 Dunlin, 2 Green Sandpiper a Greenshank, 2 Curlew a Ruff and a Sedge Warbler.
A Nightjar was seen resting on the road between Snainton and Yedingham before being flush by traffic at 20.45hrs.
