A redhead Smew was found on Wykeham South Lake during the afternoon,the first in Scarborough for over two years, it was favouring the southwest corner, also present there were 3 Great Crested Grebe, 11 Mute Swan, 8 Gadwall, 9 Pochard, 3 Goldeneye, 1 Goosander and 1 Oystercatcher.
The Firecrest was still at the Mere where there were also 3 Gadwall and and 5 Goosander, 5 Goosander, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull and 1 Mediterranean Gull were at Scalby Mills, 2 Common Scoter, 26 Purple Sandpiper and 10 Dunlin were at Boggle Hole, 3 Little Egrets were on Cayton Carr, a Merlin was at Hutton Buscel, a Bar-tailed Godwit, 1 1st winter and 2 adult Little Gulls were in Cayton Bay and Goldcrests were along Scalby Beck and in North Bay.
On the move (south unless stated) were 4 Red-throated Diver + 5 north, 10 Fulmar + 2 north, 8 Gannet + 7 north, 1 Shelduck, 11 Common Scoter, 17 Black-headed Gull, 9 Common Gull, 189 Herring Gull, 4 Great Black-backed Gull and 2 Auk sp + 2 north.
