There was no sign of yesterdays reported Black-necked/Slavonian Grebe at Wykeham South Lake but the redhead Smew reappeared, also there were 5 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Egyptian Goose, 20, Teal, 32 Wigeon, 8 Gadwall, 12 Pochard and 11 Goldeneye.
The Great Northern Diver and 20 Purple Sandpiper were in the Harbour, 2 Egyptian Geese were on Ruston Carr, a Shelduck was on Flotmanby Carr, on Johnson's Marsh there were 2 Wigeon, 94 Teal and 5 Tufted Duck, an Eider was in Cornelian Bay, 628 Wigeon were at Scalby Mills, a Water Rail was in Northstead Manor Gardens, a Shag, 7 Guillemot and a Razorbill were in North Bay, 2 Red-throated Diver, 6 Shag, 3 Guillemot and a Razorbill were off Marine Drive, 7 Mediterranean Gull were at Holbeck, 2 Kingfisher were in Peasholme Park, the Firecrest was still at the Mere, and 2 Lapland Bunting were at Long Nab, just south of the Hut, 7 Red-throated Diver and 5 Guillemot were feeding offshore and 26 Curlew and 6 Rock Pipit were on the rocks there.
A 1st winter Glaucous Gull and a 3rd winter Iceland Gull south past Long Nab were the Highlights of a morning watch there, also on the move (south unless stated) were 3 Red-throated Diver + 1 north, 6 Fulmar + 4 north including on Blue Fulmar, 17 Gannet + 1 north, 6 Cormorant + 6 north, 1 Common Scoter, 20 Black-headed Gull, 62 Common Gull, 958 Herring Gull, 98 Great Black-backed Gull, and 2 Guillemot + 2 north.
