Saturday 25th February 2017

There was a Red Kite over the south side of Burniston at 13.20 and 2♀ Goosander were on Throxenby Mere.

The harbour held 2 Black-necked Grebes, a Great Northern Diver, the very obliging ♂ Eider which earlier in the day was off the East Pier and an equally trusting immature Cormorant.

Also today a 2nd calendar year immature Glaucous Gull was seen from the train near West Knapton on the Ings by the railway line and 8 Common Buzzards were seen together along Charm Park road.
