Monday 22nd February
A Lapland Bunting was showing well on the rock armour at the base of the Holbeck landslip through much of the day. A female Black Redstart was spotted on the cliffside at the south end of Cayton Bay, while a Grey Plover, a Greenshank and 3 Stonechats were at Gristhorpe Bay. 1291 Pink-footed Geese, 20 alba Wagtails and a Brambling flew north past Long Nab through the morning and 17 Barnacle Geese flew south. 11 Snipe, 215 Greylag Geese and 3 Barn Owls were at Thronton Carrs this afternoon, and at Wrench Green this evening 4 male and one female Tawny Owls were calling. 8 Stonechats were seen at Cayton Bay, and a Short-eared Owl was near Folkton.
