Monday 8th February
A Goosander was seen on the river in Wrench Green this morning, and another was at Burton Riggs along with a Goldeneye. A Merlin flew east over Crossgates, and a Stoat was spotted carrying a Blackbird on Taylor Way. In Cayton Bay a Dunlin was with an Oystercatcher flock, and a Great Crested Grebe was in the inner harbour. In the Ellerburn/Sand Dale area of Dalby Forest there were 3 Willow Tits, 5 Marsh Tits, 80 Siskins and 120 Linnets. 37 Dunlin flew south at Long Nab plus an influx of 6 Snipe to the fields there.
