Sunday 7th February

21 Wigeon and a Woodcock were seen at Burton Riggs this morning, and a Goldeneye at Seamer Tip pool. A Woodcock was also seen at Scarborough Bowls Club, while the Coot remains in Peasholm Park. A Great Northern Diver was in the outer harbour while 29 Purple Sandpipers were again on the lighthouse steps and 2 more were at the usual roost location around midday. 7 Purple Sandpipers were also spotted roosting on the North Bay sea defenses at high tide. At Thornton Carrs there were 2 Green Sandpipers, a Little Egret, 450+ Fieldfare, 350+ Redwing and 900+ Starlings. At Low Marishes there were 5+ Shelduck, 160+ Pink-footed Geese, 1100+ Lapwing and 600+ Golden Plover. A Blue Fulmar flew south at Long Nab. 38 Teal and 22 Wigeon at Johnson's Marsh.
