Saturday 16th October
A Goshawk flew south-west over Crossgates this morning, and 4 Sparrowhawks were interacting with each other over Burton Riggs. 350+ Pink-footed Geese flew west over Cayton Bay, and 25 flew south over Gristhorpe, where a single Crossbill was seen flying north. A Barn Owl was at the top of Hilda Wood in Hackness, 15 Goldfinches were seen on a wire in Lancaster Street, and an adult and a juvenile Whooper Swan were at Wykeham South Lake. A Sooty Shearwater, 2 Manx Shearwaters, 7 Pink-footed Geese, a Velvet Scoter and 2 Great Skuas flew past Long Nab this morning, while 4 Purple Sandpipers and 32 Turnstones were at the harbour this afternoon.
